Does this look like the face of grief? One of pain? One of sorrow?

No. I no longer grieve. I grieved long enough.

I lamented so many things and for no reason.

I was ashamed because I was taught to feel shame.

I outspokenly reject any philosophy or principality which intends to control me or harm me.

To those who were coerced by “moral” or social obligation to feel embarrassed for being human, I dedicate these thoughts of mine to you. I pray for you- for your peace. I encourage you- for your comfort. I empower you- for your success.

You always win if you arrange factors to favor your disappointing “disgraces” in life.

Did you really lose or did God make way for you to take ownership of bigger and better blessings?

”Come Near” is a song I wrote to describe sincere selflessness in this selfish world. It is a note of encouragement for us; a poem meant for the moments we find it burdensome to lend a helping hand– when we know full well our own resources are limited.

As a Christian, I remember Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”—Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV).

Amongst the pieces in the dust

I see your splendid face

A cloudy vision

Captures my attention well

To help you more

But there’s a darker cloud

Threatening our hope

Fogging up our minds

Confusing all our thoughts

Yet I remain in peace amongst the gnarled ways

We find ourselves in need

Of slowing down our pace

Come near, come near

I cry, come near

Remember that you’re not here alone

Come near, come near

I hear this voice say, “Come near

Don’t carry this burden on your own”

(Come near, come near, come near, come near)

And face to face

And eye to eye

We comprehend the mystery

The issue that gets in the way

Of liberating us

Your tired hands and feet

Won't lighten your big task

The promise is it will

Be better than it’s been

Our loneliness will set

Us up for entrapment

Let’s not do that again

It hurt too much back then
